The last three years were tough ones for me. off course, there were the good times with dashes of very tough times or there were the tough times with dashes of good times.
If l could turn back the hands of the clock to remove the bad times, l would. But we all know that only happens in the science fiction movies, where only someone like Dr. Who, can go back or forward in time.
People had their share of life’s challenges in the past year.
As a country, we went through very difficult year as well. And towards the end of the year, we read, watched and heard news which were national tragedies too – a plane crash, road and fire accidents which broke and grieved our hearts.
“For you have not passed this way before.” (Josh 3:4).
This is 2026, and we still live in this same old planet Earth. It is a year which journey we are just starting. And we will tread it only once in our life time. We are not sure what it will bring. Many have made new plans, many have prayed, desiring, hoping and believing for a brand new year, filled with new start, filled with goodness.
We do not know this route, but God does – God, who alone is immortal, all-wise, all-knowing, all-present and never makes a mistake, who dwells outside of time, before the beginning of time and who created time for the universe and mankind. We can trust Him. We can put our hands in His mighty hands. We can walk with Him – HE KNOWS THE WAY. He can and will walk us through 2026.
Seek to draw closer to Him this year. Seek to know the God of the Bible. Read the scriptures over and over and over again till Christ is formed in you, till the mind of Christ is formed in you. Seek God’s heart. Seek His wisdom and walk in it.
May you have a blessed year. May God almighty cause the light of His face to shine upon you, upon your ways and all yours in Jesus’ name. May He crown this year with His goodness, Amen.
