“As evening came, Jesus said to His disciples, ‘let’s cross to the other side of the lake . . . .’ But soon a fierce storm arose. High waves began to break into the boat until it was nearly full of water” (Mark 4:35 NLT).
Sometimes when we set out to obey God, and are faithful to Him, fierce storms rises in our lives. One of the reasons such storms arise is because the devil wants us to believe we have misheard the Lord and thereby cause us to disobey Him in the long run.
Fierce storms arising do not necessarily mean that we are out of God’s will, rather it could be the very sign that we are in His perfect will.
Are you in the same boat as Jesus – living a life of obedience and faithfulness to God, and a fierce storm is raging against you? Like the disciples, you are crying out, “Lord, don’t you even care if I drown?”
God’s word is sure. His promises are certain. Hold onto the Lord, continue to stand upon His promises. Wait for Him. Don’t lose faith. He will surely rebuke and calm the storm raging in your life at just the right time.
