But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. Hebs.12:22 – 24.

Our times of personal prayer and fellowship with fellow Saints are times of heavenly ascension into our Heavenly Father’s holy city, holy habitation and throne room – into the Holy of holies itself (Hebrews 4:16). Right before our Heavenly Father’s throne, in His very presence. Jesus paved the way for this as our fore runner, by entering the holy of holies with His own blood on our behalf (Hebrews 6: 20).

This is what the above verses indicate. Our bodies do not leave the part of the planet we walk, stand, sit, lay or kneel as we pray to God. We do not need a supernatural manifestation or even an imagination of its reality. But that is the truth and reality spelled out for us in the Holy Scripture.

And this should be enough for every child of God when we approach our Heavenly Father in prayer. This should strengthen, encourage and give us a holy reverential boldness! Boldness and Faith that our Father hears us when we pray to Him. That at that point in time we have His full attention and audience. We are in His very presence!

Let this be an encouragement to you in your walk with God. Stop the agonizing, emotional struggle to have a giant, mountain moving faith in order to get God answer your prayer. Just take God at His word and trust in His unchanging character!

This is also true when God’s true children come together in the name of His Son in fellowship or as a church. You can be assured that heaven’s presence is there. You may not feel or see it, but that is the truth and reality we are told in Scripture.

If we know this truth it will strengthen our faith in prayer, encourage us to seek God’s face in prayer, and also create in us that reverential awe that is so lacking in the church today. This will cause us to walk in the holy fear of God, making it our aim to live holy because He is holy. Even though He is our Father, He is God Almighty, the Holy Monarch of the universe, Merciful and Mighty. He is present with and among us with all His heavenly host!
